Ways these Denver Broncos and their 'play-dough' quarterback could stop the Kansas City Chiefs' rule.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Real-time updates features text commentary for the weekend matchups on various channels, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage is available on select stations covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week of the NFL season , after recent discussion about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as possible championship contenders, each surrendered their unbeaten records.

Notable during those contests were the amount of penalties both conceded. Philadelphia committed them in key moments so they essentially defeated themselves having led 17-3 going into the final quarter against the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this Sunday.

But it was good to observe how Denver quarterback Bo Nix was able to overcome that deficit and then lead three scoring drives on three possessions during the final period, securing the game by four points.

Denver boast the top defender in cornerback their star corner. They rank number one in red zone defence, while Philadelphia are number one in red zone offence, yet Denver won that contest.

They executed the Eagles' number regarding disguised blitzes. They weren't necessarily rushing more than four pass rushers instead they could plug two linebackers in the 'A' gap before withdrawing them and dispatch a nickel off the edge.

Early on in the campaign, it was noted during a show that Denver might emerge as this season's surprise contenders. They finished last season strongly then did a good job of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's dark horses?

New TE Evan Engram has stepped up big while recent running back their rusher is a guy they believe in. He's currently 5th league-wide in ground gains (over 400) as well as tied for fourth in rushing scores (four).

I love how the coach the Broncos' leader has "RUSH!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates how Denver represent a squad that wants to run first, because you can do a lot based on that approach. It slows down the pass rush and keeps you in positive down and distances.

It's also helped quarterback the young passer, who came into the league as the 12th overall draft pick last year, throwing 29 touchdown passes – just behind Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert have the arm strength to pass anywhere, but they don't move the mobility that Nix has. He boasts exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, and he is highly agile.

His strengths include his mobility, being able to pass while moving, and finding varied release points to make the pass when he rolls outside protection, on rollouts. He can deliver precision throws across the middle and over the corner.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he displays a lot of composure in the pocket and isn't bothered by the blitz. He aims to evade a sack as much as possible and is able throw under pressure. He has sharp intelligence and remains very decisive.

If you consistently run the ball it eats up time and makes the opponent to be on the field for longer, and if you have an athletic quarterback the defense has to cover the field vertically and horizontally. It can be draining.

The quarterback has bitten back at Payton during games at times and I think Payton likes that fire, seeing him as such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for the coach to have a rookie QB who's similar to play-dough. He can really build something up the way he desires to build it. I think it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

The head coach owns a championship and has surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen everything. In my opinion the achievements Denver are having offensively is largely due to his guidance, his schemes, his game sense – and the pairing with Nix aids shape him into who he is.

There's no better a better guy guiding you, to assist you during difficult moments and build confidence.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet are they good enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Because that was not championship-level play by the Eagles in their last game.

Right now, it's unlikely the Broncos are incredible. They're performing better than most, which is a solid position to be in their division. All they need to do is maintain this path.

They're really good at leaning into their forte, which is running the ball, and this is exactly what they should do versus the New York Jets in London. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

New York have allowed 140 rushing yards each contest (among the worst), five ground scores this season (10th worst), and they are the only team without a win a game.

Since the NFL started recording turnovers in 1933, this team are the inaugural squad to go without a single takeaway through five games, this is surprising when you think that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.

The Chiefs' QB stated the Chiefs are off to a poor start following a recent loss to Jacksonville.

After the upcoming matchup, the Broncos face a smooth-ish schedule until their bye (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans plus the Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

In the AFC West, the Chiefs hold a losing record and the Broncos are even with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could challenge for the top of the division.

This hinges upon what version of the Chiefs they face since Denver {beat|def
