The visionary game developer, who helped create the wildly popular franchise Call of Duty, has died in a vehicle crash in Los Angeles, California at the age of 55.

Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, a game studio he co-founded.

The renowned video game developer passed away following his automobile collided and was engulfed in flames on a freeway in Los Angeles on Sunday, according to.
