The City of Angels witnessed citywide celebrations after the Los Angeles Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-match World Series title. Supporters across the globe joined local residents in celebration, marking the initial time in a quarter-century that a team has achieved consecutive championships.

Victory Parade Attracts Enormous Turnout

Los Angeles area events included a procession through the city center on Monday morning, a ticketed rally at Dodger Stadium, and impromptu gatherings across the city.

Social media videos show countless of Angelenos flooding downtown streets, many carrying homemade signs and team flags. The squad was seen traveling proudly on a double-decker bus through the masses, hoisting the championship trophy high.

“I’m already thinking about the third time we’re going to achieve this,” Shohei Ohtani stated through an translator.

The parade route concluded at Dodger Stadium, where the players emerged to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard spinning music and the artist driving a light blue classic car around the field.

Pre-Parade Festivities and Player Reactions

Festivities started well before the procession, with Dodgers fans lighting flares in the roads of the city center on Sunday night.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, awarded the MVP of the championship, commented plainly about the victory.

“Losing is not an option,” Yamamoto stated. “I love the Dodgers. This city means everything to me.”

Mixed Reactions and City Unity

However, Mark Walter received a less warm welcome at the rally. Video footage from the gathering appear to show him walking onstage to a mix of applause and boos, with jeers punctuating his speech.

The World Series served as a positive moment in what has been a trying year for Los Angeles. An estimated 225,000 people attended to the Dodgers’ victory parade last year, and according to team member Freddie Freeman, supporters this year demonstrated as much if not more enthusiasm.

“It seems it’s almost double from last year,” he said. “The supporters are incredible. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
