Iran Reports Strike on American Facility in Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.

Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and continuing attack targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone in the area of the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any destruction is uncertain and the US has yet to issue a statement.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - reported they have intercepted missiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on areas associated with the the regime, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the government.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a number of missiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported debris fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
