Ex- Doctor Charged with Assault Allegations Involving 38 Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor now faces charges for committing assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

The charging documents outline the 45 charges include:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
