US entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in beloved programs like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at the age of 60.

The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in LA recently following cancer treatment from 2022 onward, per news outlets.

"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - only friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives shared in a announcement.

They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".

A Prolific Career on Screen

Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.

He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, portraying a social organizer famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.

Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous well-known programs, including:

  • The King of Queens
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House

He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.

His film credits are "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Beyond the Screen

Away from his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.

He was a member of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn guided, supported, and advised many learners during his career and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.

In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote on social media.

The actor is survived by his wife Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
